Lent him my phone. Goodbye phone

“Dad, I will call you back later. I am crossing the road now. Bye” With that, I hung up the phone and waited for the green man. While waiting, my friends were praising me about how helpful and caring I was. That was why I gotten the “Most Helpful Student Award”.

“I remembered that time when Anna help the old lady cross the road.”

“Remember when Anna helped the young boy, who was lost in the shopping mall, to find his parents.”

“Yes, I do remember those times.”

I was blushing yet I love to hear those comments. At least, my helpfulness was remembered by others.

“Okay, let’s cross the road!” Holding my friends’ hands, we cross the road laughing away.
Not long after crossing the road, I sense that someone who following us. It was not long before I turned around, only to realize that a small boy was behind me. Curious, I asked “Is there a problem?”

He started to cry and told me that he was lost and could not find his parents. He tried asking passer-bys if they could lend him their phones so that he could contact his parents. However, none lend he. Believing what the boy said, I reach into my handbag to search for my phone.

“Here you go, call your parents.” I said with a smile. The small boy dialed the number. However, he said that he could not hear, as it was too noisy, and suggested that he moved to a quieter place. He went on and began to move further away from us.

“Anna, you are so helpful!” My friend, Esther, remarked.

“ANNA! Look! He is running away!”

All of us spotted the small boy running as fast as a cheetah. We gave chase but soon gave up as we were all wearing high-heels.

“You were cheated! That small boy was a cheat after all!”

Shocked by the fact, I needed time to accept it. It was not long later that we went to the police to make a report. However, the police said “You are not the only ones who have reported about this issue. Many have also reported about a small boy stating that he was lost. Later, he ran away with their phones.”
